As part of Little Rapids Corporation, we hold chain-of-custody certification for FSC, SFI and PEFC, and is certified for the use and distribution of paper products according to their respective chain-of-custody standards. In addition, the company has controlled wood certification from FSC and certified fiber sourcing from SFI, both of which are through our Shawano Specialty Products paper mill.
These new certifications are just one part of Little Rapids Corporation’s commitment to being a good corporate citizen with a sincere and proper regard for the environment.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international nonprofit organization devoted to encouraging the responsible management of the world’s forests. FSC-certified products use wood from forests that are managed according to strict environmental, social and economic standards.
SFI Inc. is an independent non-profit charitable organization, and is solely responsible for maintaining, overseeing and improving the internationally recognized Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) program. SFI chain-of-custody certification tells buyers the percentage of fiber from certified forests, certified sourcing and/or post-consumer recycled content. The SFI program’s unique fiber sourcing requirements promote responsible forest management on all suppliers’ lands.
The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) through independent third-party certification.
If you are interested in products that can be labeled according to FSC, SFI and PEFC certification guidelines, please contact us to discuss your needs.
